The Cure Starts Now – Australia and the Children’s Cancer Institue of Australia Researching DIPG

The Cure Starts Now – Australia presents the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia $100,000 for Research into the deadliest Child Cancer known, DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma)

This ongoing monetary support is brought about by the efforts of a sensational man – Ren Pederson who lost his daughter Amy to DIPG in March 2009 at the age of 9 years. Without his driving force and that of the CSN team this would not be possible. This is the second donation totalling now $200,000 – Thanks To You… –

Currently there is No Public Funding for DIPG and I would implore you to get behind The Cure Starts Now – Australia so that we can add another $100,000 or more, Every Year until we find a Cure

Touring the Lab we get to meet the Amazing Researchers involved, and share in the discoveries they have made in the last year over DIPG. The research material is so precious that in Australia there are only two samples thanks to Liliana (4) and Talin (6) who recently lost their lives to this dreadful disease at very young ages.

Both Liliana and Talin had a parent present today to see what the legacy of their priceless donation is able to be used for, here in Australia, and Overseas for International Research, to rid the world of DIPG which has a near Zero Survival Rate. DIPG can affect children between the ages of 2.5 and 19 years, and is really a horrible death that can slowly take your child between just a few weeks to two years…

By having the Cure Starts Now – Australia, pay for an amazing researcher (Maria) and her colleagues Anne and Laura, to focus on this project, we are able to push forward the treatments for DIPG now, for the children that are being diagnosed today…

In the western world this is ~1 child diagnosed every day… World Wide this would be much higher…

The Wonderful Staff at the Children’s Cancer Institute of Australia (CCIA) are based on the grounds of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in the Lowy Building specially made for research into eliminating Childhood Cancer.

They are led by a huge warm hearted team with Professor Michelle Haber AM and Dr David Ziegler – as a parent it was amazing and teary to see where your child has their dormant but living tissue stored for research into this disease. Liliana and Talin both live on to help the DIPG sufferers with the very essence of their beings.

With us today in Person and in (Spirit) were Ren Pederson (Amy 9), Rachael Coad (Liliana 4), Diane Marthick (Callum 7), Gerry Tye (Talin 6), Penny Michie, Professor Michelle Haber, Dr Simon Zeigler and the Amazing Researchers at CCIA, Maria, Anne and Laura.

The Care by all the Staff at the CCIA is amazing along with the dedication to eradicate DIPG.

For that I give my Heartfelt Thanks along with all the DIPG Children and their Parents Worldwide…
