Senior-Loken syndrome 4
Overview
A rare inherited disorder characterized by kidney dysfunction and progressive eye disease. Type 4 is caused by a chromosomal defect on chromosome 1p36.
Symptoms
* Thirst * Excessive urination * Progressive vision loss * Blindness * Arterial hypertension * Tubulointerstitial nephropathy * Anemia * Increased blood urea nitrogen * Increased blood creatinine level * Thickening of kidney filtration tissues * End stage kidney disease * Polyuria * Enuresis * Inability to concentrate urine * Kidney failure * Metabolic acidosis * Growth retardation * Renal salt wasting * Retinitis pigmentosa
