Overview

A rare disorder involving excessive growth resulting in a large birth size and excessive growth following birth. Adults with this disorder also tend to be excessively tall.

* Advanced bone age in early childhood * Tall stature * Large size at birth * Excessive postnatal growth * Increased weight

* Normal genetic variation * Early puberty * Chromosome disorders * Klinefelter's syndrome - in females * XYY syndrome - in males * Marfan syndrome * Hormonal disorders * Gigantism * Acromegaly * Hyperthyroidism * Overnutrition * Sexual precocity * Eating more * Overeating * Pregnancy * Recent childbirth - retaining weight after giving birth is common. * Normal growing infant * Normal growing child * Normal growing adolescent
