Overview
A rare inherited syndrome characterized by involuntary muscle jerking and progressive muscle wasting in the hands and feet.
Symptoms
* Progressive distal muscle weakness * Progressive distal muscle wasting * Myoclonic jerks * Dementia * Abnormal walk * Speech defect
Prognosis
Prognosis of Jankovic-Rivera syndrome: often the lifespan is reduced but some survive into their 60's
