Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly with cardiac defects and sensorineural hearing loss

A rare syndrome characterized mainly by heart defects, hearing impairment and a congenital eye disorder called Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly.

  • Atrial septal defect
  • Sensorioneural hearing loss
  • Axenfeld-Rieger anomaly
  • Glaucoma
  • Heart murmur

The cause of ASD is unknown. In this condition, blood shunts from left to right because left atrial pressure normally is slightly higher than right atrial pressure.
