Though myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) occurs mainly in adults, it can occur in children. Pediatric MDS disease progression, prognosis, and outcomes are different for each child. How are these younger patients diagnosed and treated? During this webinar, Dr. Hofmann will explain the similarities and differences related to the causes, diagnosis, and treatment of children as compared to adults with MDS. The factors that influence specific treatment decisions will also be discussed. The session will end with a brief discussion of the MDS Pediatric Registry and pediatric treatment options that are in development and may be available in the future.
