The E-Rare consortium is pleased to announce a workshop on the use of database management systems and biobanks in the field of rare diseases.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together a small group of developers/users of such databases from different countries, to let them exchange their experiences on different systems and to discuss if there are model systems/best practices that can be recommended, and if some of the developed systems can be adapted for the use of other rare diseases so that not everyone needs to start new developments.
We believe that this aim could be achieved via exchanging knowledge on the currently available systems, proposing clustering, discussing the development of minimal generic tools and data harmonization.
