The specific aims of the 2014 American Society for Matrix Biology Biennial Conference are: 1.) Advancement of the matrix biology field: The foremost objective of ASMB2014 is to provide a national forum of excellence for fundamental and translational aspects of matrix biology, i.e. to serve as a catalyst for advancement of this field. 2.) Developing the next generation of matrix biologists: A long-term goal of ASMB2014 is development of the next generation of scientists working on ECM and cell-matrix interactions. 3.) Promoting women scientists and minorities in the ECM field.
