Overview

A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by slowly progressive muscle weakness and wasting and abnormal function of the bodies automatically regulated processes resulting in excess sweating and other problems.

Symptoms

  • Excessive sweating
  • Low blood pressure on standing
  • Blue fingers in cold weather 
  • Blue toed in cold weather
  • Abnormal esophageal function (esophageal achalasia)
  • Progressive muscle weakness 
  • Progressive muscle wasting 
  • Enlarged esophagus 
  • Impaired joint mobility
