Diagnosis
The differential diagnosis of subungual exostosis includes verruca, pyogenic granuloma, glomus tumor, carcinoma of the nail bed, subungual epidermal inclusion cyst, melanotic whitlow, and enchondroma. Like an exostosis, an enchondroma may involve the distal phalanx.
