Conotruncal anomaly face syndrome

Overview

A rare group of heart defect involving the outflow tracts. Examples include truncus arteriosus, transposition of great arteries and tetralogy of Fallot. Obviously the symptoms will be determined by which specific defect is involved.

Symptoms

* Feeding difficulty * Poor weight gain * Poor development * Breathing difficulty on exertion * Fatigability on exertion * Breathing difficulty on standing * Rapid breathing * Cyanosis * Characteristic squatting * Infant cyanosis * Finger clubbing * Toe clubbing * Heart murmur * Hole between heart ventricles * Obstruction from right ventricle to lung * Aortic arch * Thickened right ventricle muscle * Abnormal aorta position * Polycythemia * Abnormal heart rhythm * Congestive heart failure * Enlarged heart * Reduced appetite * Lung hypertension * Fainting
