Brody myopathy
Overview
Brody myopathy (medical condition): A form of neuromuscular disease caused by a genetic defect. The muscles have difficulty relaxing after exercise or strong movements such as making a fist or forcefully closing eyes.
Symptoms
* Impaired muscle relaxation after exercise * Stiff muscles after exercise * Muscle cramps after exercise * Muscle pain after exercise * Painless muscle cramps
Diagnosis
The phrase "signs of Brody myopathy" should, strictly speaking, refer only to those signs and symptoms of Brody myopathy that are not readily apparent to the patient.
