Apolipoprotein C 2I deficiency
Overview
A rare inherited condition where a deficiency of apolipoprotein C-II impairs lipoprotein metabolism and results in a build up of chylomicrons and VLDL.
Symptoms
- Increased VLDL in blood plasma
- Accumulation of chylomicrons in blood plasma
- Pancreatitis
- Abdominal pain
- Anemia
- Elevated fasting plasma triglycerides
- High cholesterol VLDL
- Low cholesterol LDL
- Low cholesterol HDL
- Reduced apolipoprotein A-1 level
