Overview
Amelogenesis imperfecta, hypoplastic/hypomaturation, X-linked 2 is a rare inherited disorder involving abnormal formation of the tooth enamel which causes it to be thin and soft. The abnormality is inherited in a X-linked manner (Xq22-q28).
Symptoms
- Brown discoloration of teeth
- Yellow discoloration of teeth

- Soft tooth enamel
- Easily damaged teeth
Causes
- Internal resorption
- Calcium metabolism disorders
- Rickets
- Certain medications
- Maternal tetracyclines during pregnancy
