Hypogammaglobulinemia and Isolated growth hormone deficiency- X-linked

Overview

An immunodeficiency disorder involving low blood gamma globulin levels which results in an increased susceptibility to infections. The condition may be inherited or can be caused by certain drugs (levamisole, hydantoin and carbamazepine).

Symptoms

* Recurring ear infections * Recurring sinus infections * Recurring lung infections * Pneumonia * Recurring bronchial infections

Treatment

* Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) * Antibiotics - for infections. * Physical therapy * Daily postural drainage
