Overview
A rare disorder where a congenital deficiency of an enzyme (sucrase-isomaltase) prevents the absorption of sucrase and isomaltose consumed in the diet.
Symptoms
* Inability to digest lactose * Poor weight gain * Diarrhea * Abdominal cramps * Bloating * Gas * Dehydration * Malnutrition * Poor growth * Irritability * Colic * Vomiting * Abrasion of skin on buttocks * Irritation of skin on buttocks
