Holoprosencephaly ectrodactyly cleft lip palate

Overview

A very rare syndrome characterized mainly by a cleft hand, lip and/or palate and the failure of the brain to separate into two lobes.

Symptoms

* Single-lobed brain * Cleft hand * Cleft lip * Cleft palate * Lack of sense of smell * Depressed nose bridge * Wide set eyes * Downslanted space between eyelids * Encephalocele * Retarded fetal growth * Small eyes * Missing fingers * Droopy eyelids * Single nostril * Premature fusion of skull bones * Telecanthus * Abnormal forearm bone (radius)
