University of Minnesota presents: Orphan Products for Rare Diseases: Availability and Accessibility – They’re Not The Same Thing

Minneapolis, Minn. – This Rare Disease Day event will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024 with the in-person program at McNamara Alumni Center and an online option. The title of the program is “Orphan Products for Rare Diseases: Availability and Accessibility – They’re Not The Same Thing.” The program will feature two keynote speakers and a panel discussion. The first keynoter, Dr. David Fajgenbaum, will address the issue of availability of orphan products. The second speaker, Dr. Dave McLean, will discuss the issue of accessibility of orphan products. A panel with additional speakers will close out the program. In addition to the formal program, we will host a breakfast session for representatives of patient advocacy organizations that will feature Dr. Sue Berry, Chair of the University of Minnesota/M Health Fairview NORD Rare Disease Center of Excellence.
