This distinguished international group will gather for its ninth
workshop to advance the research agenda for the bleeding disorders
community. As past National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) workshops have
made clear, gene therapy technology has turned out to be far more
challenging than scientists originally expected. Nevertheless, many
experts believe that if research continues at its current pace,
hemophilia can be cured. In fact, because of its special
characteristics, hemophilia might be one of the first diseases
completely conquered by gene therapy.
