The meeting will draw attention to end-of-life (EOL) palliative care (PC) processes, the options available to patients and their families, and the obligations of health service communities to address these complex needs. As a national forum, the meeting will look to energize and mobilize PC and EOL care research that will restructure and refocus care before and at the latter stages of life. In addition, the summit will frame the dialogue for developing a research agenda while catalyzing national actions from problems to practices to policy.
