EPPOSI is pleased to announce that its 10th Workshop on Partnering for Rare Disease Therapy Development will be hosted by the Belgian Federal Parliament on Monday 26 – Tuesday 27 October 2009 in Brussels. The event will be co-chaired by Mr. Yann Le Cam (EURORDIS), Pr. Jean-Jacques Cassiman (ESHG), Dr. Erik Tambuyzer (Genzyme Europe)
Key themes to be covered by this year’s workshop include:
- What is the impact of the economic crisis on the field of rare diseases – and what is the vision on further progress in R&D, diagnosis and patient care?
- Building on the public policy base of the last 10 years: How to advance policies in the next 5 years?
- Rare Cancers: Specific challenges within rare diseases?
EPPOSI provides a high-level platform for consensus-building through discussion and the cultivation of partnerships between patients, academia, and industry as well as European and member state authorities, with the aim to convert public policy issues and scientific developments into therapies for rare diseases.
