A rare chromosomal disorder involving deletion of genetic material from the long arm (q) of chromosome 14 resulting in various abnormalities.
Symptoms
* Severe mental retardation * Reduced muscle tone * Seizures * Visual impairment * Recurrent respiratory infections * Small head * Flat back of skull * Epicanthal folds * Narrow face * Long face * Downward slanting space between eyelids * Flat nasal bridge * Low set pinnae * Small jaw * Short neck
